2019 Water Art Invitational

Calling All High School Artists!

The Prince William County Service Authority invites high school students enrolled in Prince William County public, private and home schools to participate in the 2019 Water Art Invitational. The event challenges students to visually depict this year’s theme of “Every Life and Job Depend on Water.”

The Water Art Invitational is an annual art contest hosted by the Prince William County Service Authority to depict how safe, reliable drinking water is an indispensable and convenient resource that billions of people rely on every day.

Submission Categories:

  • Painting/Drawing;
  • Photography; and
  • Computer Graphics

Key Dates:

  • November 2018 thru February 6, 2019 - Classroom Presentations Available
  • February 13, 2019 - Artwork Submissions Due
  • March 14, 2019 - Water Art Invitational Awards

Rules and Entry Forms:

Students, parents and teachers can download the rules, entry forms and labels by clicking here. Students who submit artwork for the competition should focus on the theme while creating their entries. Judges consider both demonstrated artistic ability and a clear interpretation of the theme when scoring the submissions.

Classroom Presentations:

Art teachers are also encouraged to schedule a presentation by Service Authority staff for their art classes. These presentations last 15 to 30 minutes depending on questions and provide an explanation of the rules as well as examples of previous winning submissions.
