Work Completed from 10/23/15 to 11/06/15:
  • Approximately 330 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main and 10x6 dual walled HDPE force main, in a common trench, on the SW side of Davis Ford Road nearing Occoquan Forest Drive.
  • Installed a 16-inch and a 24-inch steel casing underneath Davis Ford Road.
  • All work has required the use of flaggers to maintain traffic; delays have been minimal.
On the horizon for the next couple of weeks:
  • Install 12-inch ductile iron water main and 10x6 dual walled HDPE force main, in a common trench, on the SW side of Davis Ford Road approximately 100 feet to the intersection of Occoquan Forest Drive/River Forest Drive.
  • Install the 12-inch water main and the 6-inch ductile main into the steel casings under Davis Ford Road at the Occoquan Forest Drive/River Forest Drive intersection.
  • Install 12-inch water main for approximately 100 feet along the west side of Occoquan Forest Drive from Davis Ford Road northward and complete the connection to the new water main already installed.
  • Install 6-inch force main for approximately 60 feet across and along the east side of Occoquan Forest Drive from Davis Ford Road northward and cap it.
  • Install the 3rd interconnection to the existing water system along Occoquan Forest Drive near Twin Rivers Drive. The existing fire hydrant at that location will also be replaced.
  • Pressure testing will be initiated for all installed mains.
  • Install fire hydrants and valves according to the plans.
  • Work schedule is 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
  • Flaggers will continue to manage traffic; expect to see continued delays along the work route for the next couple of weeks.
  • All planned work is subject to change and is contingent upon the appropriate weather for underground utility installation.
  • Daily inspection and maintenance of temporary asphalt patching.
  • Permanent Paving of Davis Ford Road is planned to occur mid to late November.
