Water Treatment Process

Both the Corbalis and Griffith Plants use a six-step treatment process that ensures that its treated water is clean and safe to drink. In addition, the Service Authority continually monitors the water that is delivered to customers to ensure that it remains clean, safe and of the highest possible quality.

Wastewater Treatment Plants

H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility

The H. L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF) is located in eastern Prince William County along the U.S. 1 corridor near the Potomac River. The facility treats influent wastewater from customers located in the eastern half of the County.

The Facility was named for Mr. H. L. Mooney, the former Administrator of the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Dumfries-Triangle Sanitary District.
