Grubbs Environmental Center Interior

The Prince William County Service Authority opened the Durward E. Grubbs, Jr. Environmental Center in October 2015.

Situated on the campus of the Service Authority's award-winning H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF) in Woodbridge, the Grubbs Environmental Center features a state-of-the-art 6,200-square-foot laboratory space and an educational exhibit detailing the life cycle of treated water and the important role the Mooney AWRF plays in keeping the Chesapeake Bay Watershed healthy.

The Grubbs Environmental Center was named in honor of Durward E. Grubbs, Jr., a founding member of the Service Authority's Board of Directors. Grubbs spent 27 years on the Board, serving as chairman on multiple occasions.

With dynamic and interactive displays, the educational exhibit inside the Grubbs Environmental Center will inform visitors about the crucial role of the Service Authority in relation to the health of the public and environment.
