Completed all 12-inch ductile iron water main and 10x6 dual walled HDPE force main on Davis Ford Road.
Completed the bores across Davis Ford Road.
Completed all water main on Occoquan Forest Drive and replaced the existing fire hydrant with a new one near the intersection of Twin Rivers Drive.
Completed approximately 80 feet of new force main at the Occoquan Forest Drive entrance.
Continued pressure testing of the remainder of water and force main on Davis Ford Drive.
All work has required the use of flaggers to maintain traffic; delays have been minimal.
On the horizon for the next three weeks:
Install one inspection port near Tomlinson Drive (one-day operation).
Finalize pressure testing for all installed mains.
Conduct bacteriological sampling and testing of the water in the newly-installed water mains.
Install the permanent restoration of the southeast bound lane of Davis Ford Road from River Forest/Occoquan Forest Drives south to Tomlinson Drive.
Install permanent pavement striping and reflective markers along Davis Ford Road.
Install the permanent pavement restoration of the southbound lane of Occoquan Forest Drive.
Work schedule is 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, but may extend later in the day depending on the progress of the paving operations.
Flaggers will continue to manage traffic; expect continued delays along the work route for the next couple of weeks.
All planned work is subject to change and is contingent upon the appropriate weather for underground utility installation and paving operations.
Daily inspection and maintenance of temporary asphalt patching.
