Mooney Plant and Education Center Tours
Situated on the campus of the Service Authority's award-winning H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF) in Woodbridge, the Grubbs Environmental Center features a state-of-the-art 6,200-square-foot laboratory space and an educational exhibit detailing the life cycle of treated water and the important role the Mooney AWRF plays in keeping the Chesapeake Bay Watershed healthy.
With dynamic and interactive displays, the educational exhibit inside the Grubbs Environmental Center informs visitors about the crucial role of the Service Authority in relation to the health of the public and environment.
Walk-ins may take a self-guided tour of the Grubbs Environmental Center Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Group tours of the H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility, 1851 Rippon Boulevard in Woodbridge, must be scheduled in advance and are available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Groups must include four or more individuals. Tours take approximately one hour. Attendees must be 10 years old or in the fourth grade to attend the tour, and groups must include one adult for every five children. The H.L. Mooney AWRF is currently undergoing a construction project which may impact tour scheduling and availability. We thank you for your patience while we coordinate requests around construction activities.
